General Questions

What is The Folio?

The Folio is Conestoga High School's student-run literary and arts magazine. We publish creative writing, poetry, visual art, and photography from students throughout the school year.

Who can submit to The Folio?

Any currently enrolled Conestoga High School student can submit work to The Folio. We welcome submissions from students in all grades and with all levels of experience.

How often does The Folio publish?

We publish two main print issues per year (Winter and Spring), but we also feature work online throughout the year and on our podcast.

Where can I get a copy of The Folio?

Print issues are distributed throughout the school and at special events. Past issues are also available online through our website. Contact us at foliostoga@gmail.com if you'd like a physical copy.

Submission Questions

How do I submit my work?

Visit our Submit page for detailed instructions. Use the appropriate Google Form for writing or art submissions, and follow the formatting guidelines carefully.

Can I submit multiple pieces?

Yes! We encourage students to submit multiple pieces. You can submit as many works as you'd like, though we may not publish all submissions in a single issue.

What happens after I submit?

Our editorial team reviews all submissions and selects pieces for publication. You'll receive an email notification within 2-3 weeks letting you know if your work has been accepted.

Can I submit work that's been published elsewhere?

Yes, we accept previously published work. Please let us know in your submission where the work was previously published.

What if my work isn't selected?

Not being selected doesn't mean your work isn't good! We receive many submissions and can only publish a limited number each issue. We encourage you to submit again in future issues.

Are there any content restrictions?

Work should be appropriate for a high school audience. We value authentic student expression but ask that submissions avoid excessive profanity, graphic violence, or harmful content.

Staff Questions

How do I join The Folio staff?

Visit our Apply page to learn about available positions and the application process. We recruit new staff members during course selection in February.

What is the time commitment?

Staff members attend the Folio class, 8th period on Garnet days. Additional time will be required for the creation of literary and art submissions.

Do I need prior experience?

No prior experience is required! We're looking for passionate, committed students who want to learn and contribute. We provide training to all new staff members.

Podcast Questions

How can I get my work featured on the podcast?

Submit your work through the regular submission process and indicate that you'd like it considered for the podcast. You can also submit audio recordings of your own readings.

Where can I listen to the podcast?

Episodes are available on our Podcast page and shared through our social media channels. You can also find us on Spotify.

Can I be interviewed for the podcast?

Yes! We regularly feature student interviews about their creative process. If you're interested, reach out to us at foliostoga@gmail.com.
